Ah! propane that explains why it is so quiet the one to ones can be heard for quite
    some distance.(drip Gas/white gas?)
Thank you for many hours of education. yes and some entertainment.
You must love your hobby very much.

@stevenps49 I only made sufficient drawings and sketches to enable me to make the engine. They would need a lot of work to enable others to build from them but I have considered doing this and making casting sets. There is a lot of work involved in producing them though and I don’t know if anyone would want to pay a realistic price.

Love the sound and motion of this engine. Would you make the plans available for purchase?
    Thanks for sharing!

There’s nothing like the sound of those old engines

  • myfordboy:

@colt4547 I think you either love it or hate it. I love it.

  • colt4547:

I have always loved this engine. Wonderful work and thank you for sharing.

  • myfordboy:

@seelder Its the backlash of the gears, the engine is running with no load.. If there was a pump connected to it, it would be much quieter

  • seelder:

@myfordboy what is it? its anoying? it sounds like something is loose

  • myfordboy:

@seelder The full size engine makes the same noise.

  • seelder:

    something is clanking…

You sir are a master craftsman for sure. Great work. Your videos have become some of my favorite on YouTube. Thanks for taking the time to make and post them.

Excellent design – great castings- thanks for sharing this.

  • myfordboy:

@gwheyduke Its greensand not Petrobond. Yes all castings are aluminium.Cylinders have cast iron liners, all roatating parts are bushed.

  • gwheyduke:

Very nice work! Are you using Petro bond (oil) sand for your castings? Are all of your castings aluminium?

  • myfordboy:

@fairyheli2 Not quite. The shape of the cam means the engine can only fire every 8 stokes instead of the normal 4. Additionaly there is a govenor which reduces the number of fire strokes further.

  • fairyheli2:

so is this just a hit and miss??

  • myfordboy:

@fly2000jtb Was used for pumping water, HP not stated.

  • fly2000jtb:

Could it be used for a wagon, car, gen, etc..? about what horse power do you think it is/ verry verrry coollllllllll Joseph T fly2000jtb your new youtube fan!!!!

  • poulmba:

    @steamtrac so would i !

  • smgussey:

Excellent job! Could not tell this from the real thing if you weren’t told! Selling a casting kit for that would make big money…

  • oldbriggsengines:

ever think of making a webster mag for it? i think that would be the only way to make it better

  • Hallaran:

A work of art and function!

  • myfordboy:

No reason why a working model could not be made.
You would probable need access to the full size engine though to get the dimentions.

  • sdime59:

your awesome…do you think a model v8 ford flad head can be made and of course function? and were could i get the dimensions of it and model wood parts like you did
